Commissioner-cum-Secretary Works Department Odisha reviewed the transformation of the Swargadwaar

As instructed by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Works Department, Odisha in today’s site visit to Swargadwar, following tasks are to be completed prior to operationalize the pyres:

1. Construction of planter box at the entry point of swargadwar (Both side of steps).

2. Removal of existing transformer at SW corner of newly constructed swargadwar.

3. Renovation of existing west side boundary wall and wall of existing plastering.( private area)

4. Renovation of existing west side boundary wall such as Mural painting matching to existing color of newly constructed swargadwar.

5. Sheet / SS grill barricade at North side area of newly constructed pyre section of swargadwara.

6. Ramp construction in north East Conner.( from swargadwaara office) for having a smooth approach to pyres with dead body.

7. Stainless steel railing in East side of newly constructed pyres.

8. Fixing of additional brass plate engraved with pyre numbers in addition to existing numbers pattern.

9. Additional lighting arrangements in the East side corridor.

10. Construction of table top road crossing from swargadwar pyre steps to foot path in opposite side of Sea beach road)

11. Installation of adequate number of signage along beach road.

12. Construction of new steps in front of newly constructed swargadwar leading to sea beach for easy approach.

13. Removal of the existing vending zone in-front of newly constructed swargadwara .(beach side).

14. Renovation of existing retaining wall tiles (Beach side) matching with newly constructed of swragadwar.

15. Painting of existing high mast light pole and replacement/ additional lights if required.

16. Installation of focusing light along the newly constructed boundary wall of swargadawr.

17. Making the pyre front area as”NO PARKING ZONE”.

18. West side road is to be exclusively used for tractor movement only.
